Keep your room clean and tidy

• • Venue cleanliness is essential and everything MUST kept clean and tidy at all times, inside and outside the training room.

• • It’s always a good idea to find out where the cleaning items are kept in case the room has not been cleaned properly.

• • If you arrive VERY early you may find the cleaners have not had the time to clean your room from the previous days clients. Be prepared to set up the room around them, you may have no choice.

• • Have a cloth with you so you can attend to any spot marks and spills that are not acceptable.
    • What is your plan for when a whole cup of coffee gets spilled on to the floor; believe me, it will happen eventually.

• Keep in mind that to some people an untidy room is the equivalence to an unclean room. Venue tidyness is very important to many of your clients in ways you could not predict.

ROOMS DETERIOATE OVER TIME

When you have an extended training i.e. five days in a row, it’s not uncommon for the standard of the tidiness to deteriorate just a little each day until the place becomes a real mess. You may find boxes, books, bags and folders are scattered all over the room.

As the days wear on you may start to get a bit tired but it is important to maintain your original standards. Cleanliness at workplace is essential for a professional.

BATHROOM CLEANLINESS IS PART OF YOUR JOB

No one really likes to make sure a public bathroom is clean and tidy but when organizing an event, meeting or training this responsibility falls to you.

You may not be the one doing the actual cleaning but you must have a strategy in place to ensure someone is taking care of it on your behalf. ALWAYS remember this area as it can be the downfall of many a good day if the bathroom cleanliness comes into question.
