Weddings
Details
I'll say it again.... Details
That's what makes the difference between an astounding wedding and an "eh" wedding. It's details, regardless of budget.
A wedding done on a strict budget can seem to be a $30,000 production, and a $60,000 wedding can seem like a fly by night affair slapped together at the last minute.... the difference being what's put into the little details.
And as fate would have it, you've got little to not time to fuss over the little details. You've got to find a dress that'll work for 3 bridesmaids shaped like a pear, an hourglass, and a ruler. You have to decide on the color scheme. The venue just told you that you have to bring your own furniture and there's no parking within 300 yards.
Fortunately, you booked your catering with Small Thyme Catering. You went to the tasting and we filled you full of best food you've seen since Iron Chef battle Turkey. And as luck would have it, you're finding out that we here at Small Thyme Catering bring much more to the table than just showing up with some warming trays of food. We'll take care of your linens and place settings. We had also made sure to meet with you the week before your special day at the reception location for some decoration consultation to make sure that things are laid out perfectly for your guests.
When you arrive at your reception after exchanging vows, you find that Small Thyme has set up the place just as you had imagined. All the little details.
Corporate Events
It's your turn to shine... having been given the responsibility to feed about 1000 hungry guests flying in from all over the country. You have to satisfy Gary from accounting as well as titillate the senses of all the graphic design guys who moonlight as DJ's at the Board and Brew.
With an event like this where you've got potential investors to impress, getting the catering right will make for a successful event. Our name is Small Thyme, but small time we are not. Hire us to feed the caffeine addicted masses and you'll get Barbara Perry and Larry Kiesler... two catering heavy hitters who come out swinging for the fences.
Barbara Perry brings to the table over 30 years of experience in Hotel & Catering Management. Larry Kiesler has trained with the best cooks in the west. We also have on staff chefs trained and certified at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, one of the (if not THE) top culinary school in the US.
We'll help and guide you to design a menu that'll satisfy your attendees while staying within the budget you've been given. The food will be fresh, exciting, savory, and delicious.
And even if a presenter or two put your attendees to sleep with some PowerPoint sleeping powder, we guarantee you that they'll all leave smiling, commenting you on how they's had some of the best food they've ever had at a company event.
Meetings
Sometimes, meetings just have to go through lunch. You're reviewing a large project, making sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed... or you want to really consider everyone's input
Whatever it may be, one thing's for sure: these people are so dedicated to their work that they've sacrificed lunch for the company. So let's rally the troops and have us prepare a lunch for your next meeting! We at Small Thyme Catering have developed menus specially suited for the lunch meeting crowd.
Small Get -Togethers
You're planning a get-together between you and about 6 of your best buddies from over the years. Maybe a couple from high school marching band, a good friend you met in college Chem lab who practically saved your behind because you would've failed the class without his help, and some random person you met at a bus stop some years back who ended up being one of your best friends.
All of you have drifted apart over the years as each of you sought your respective fortunes. And as life has it, you find yourselves easily within driving distance from each other and you want to plan a small get-together at your house. You'll play Jenga and Guess Who. Now for the food. You stink at cooking and would like something special for this most special rag tag group of misfits turned responsible adults.
Food for about 6 people totaling no more than $300 that doesn't taste like cardboard? Most caterers will tell you to take a walk. Here at Small Thyme Catering, we would love the opportunity to make your friends' eyes open wide as they bite into some of the most delicious cuisine they've had since sneaking into the banker's ball of '94 at the moscone center.
Give Barbara a call anytime at (510) 594-6899, email us at catering@smallthymecafe.com, or fill out one of our handy dandy forms in the contact section. We'd love to hear your great ideas!
Parties
Parties are about 3 things.
1. The Food
2. The Entertainment
3. The Food
There's a reason why "entertaining" guests usually means feeding your guests. And overwhelming your guests with hospitality is something that's built into almost every culture. That loving, warm, inviting atmosphere you get when a neighbor invites you in for tea, your southern grandma has about 50 different pies sitting on a single window sill awaiting your arrival, or how your best friend's mom seems to poke her head in every 5 minutes with another dish of snacks and treats.
Food is part of what makes life great. We here at Small Thyme Catering specialize in food. Great Food. Comforting Food. Savory Food. Refreshing Food. Food that matches every emotion and every party, big or small.
We would love to cater your next party and help be responsible for a lot of full and happy party goers.
